Ethoxyacetic acid can be prepared by chloroacetic acid and ethanol. This reaction will need reagent EtONa. The reaction time is 10 min with reaction temperature of 80 °C. The yield is about 61%.

3) Use

Ethoxyacetic acid can be used to produce ethoxy-acetic acid ethoxymethyl ester at the condition of electrochemical oxidation.
